Drip Coffeemakers

1.      BUNN CSB1B Speed Brew Select Coffee Maker

Those who use it properly, love it. BUNN Speed Brewer makes a rich smooth coffee that’ll easily spoil you on a daily basis. While it requires a small learning curve, it’s definitely worth it. When it comes to brewing coffee, it’s faster than Keurig and once you go BUNN you can’t go back! According to general experiences and opinions, the machine should last you between 4 to 5 years.

Technical specs:

BUNN coffee maker comes in black color with a 3-year warranty. It’s made of plastic, glass, and stainless steel.

It doesn’t beep when it’s done brewing but it does come with a warming plate that keeps the coffee hot. BUNN coffee makers are made in the USA.  Keep in mind that this brewer comes with an internal warming tank that needs to be powered all the time.

It works best with filtered water. When using tap water, minerals and calcium start to build fast and it’s difficult to clean it. Also, once you get that build up in the brewer, the coffee won’t taste the same anymore.

Product dimensions are 12.5 x 7.8 x 14 inches, and it weighs 8.5 pounds. You can choose between bold, normal, and strong brew strength. It’s a drip machine with dishwasher safe parts and 900W.

Pros

  • Stainless steel water tank
  • Drip-free carafe
  • Smooth rich coffee
  • Fast brewer
  • Capacity of 10 cups

Cons

  • Very hard to clean
  • Very faint warmer indicator
  • No automatic shut-off

Summary

BUNN isn’t the best option for those who travel on a regular basis and for those who have a small kitchen. Issues aside, this brewer makes a tasty coffee quickly and it’s great for a larger family. Pay attention to the warmer indication; the light is faintly blue and difficult to notice whether it’s on or off.

2.      Cuisinart DCC-3200W Programmable Coffee Maker

This coffee maker comes with a programmable option of waking up to the smell of freshly brewer coffee. It’ll keep coffee hot for longer and it may not seem like the most stylish and well-designed coffeemaker on the list, it will easily give you that quality coffee you’re looking for.

You can set the machine to beep once the coffee is ready. Also, you can set the hot plate to keep coffee warm up to 4 hours. This coffee machine uses cone-shaped filters.

You can select from regular or bold coffee brew strength. They advertise that this is a 1 cup carafe, but it’ll actually make you 12 cups of coffee.

  • Brew pause feature
  • Flavorful coffee
  • Brews hot coffee
  • Easy to use
  • The capacity of 12 cups

Cons

  • Annoying beeper
  • Lid leaks regularly when pouring coffee

While it’s a solid brewer, don’t put Cuisinart maker under a kitchen cabinet as it releases a lot of steam and it might ruin it. Otherwise, this coffee machine can last a long time as long as you maintain it well and regularly. Don’t forget to clean it thoroughly (vinegar and water) before using or it’ll give you a horrible-tasting coffee.

3.      Calphalon Special Brew 10-Cup Coffee Maker

It’s stylish. It comes with a premium boiling system, and it’s fussy and precise when it comes to temperature. Calphalon will please you and 9 other people easily since it’s a great value for money. Yes, the coffee is good. It has some disadvantages, but it looks good on the kitchen counter!

Technical specs:

Calphalon brewer comes with a heater plate and mid-brew pause. It also comes with a very precise brewing temperature. It’s made of plastic and stainless steel. The carafe is said to be dishwasher safe, but it’s nearly impossible to replace it since it’s unavailable until further notice. If that’s important to you, look for another brewer.

The machine beeps when it’s towards the end of the cycle, but don’t remove the carafe right away, as there’s still coffee pouring a few more seconds after the beep. But the beep isn’t too loud.

In terms of brewing, the machine uses #4 paper cone filters.

Product dimensions are 15.8 x 8.7 x 16.1 inches, and it weighs 10.8 pounds.

Pros

  • No drop when pouring
  • Brew pause feature
  • Easy to set up
  • Non-stick warming plate
  • The capacity of 10 cups

Cons

  • Overpriced
  • Basic features

The premium boiling system should extract 20% more flavor. While no one knows what this means, the brewer makes a decent cup of coffee. Still, it’s not competitive enough, as you can get the same quality brew with Cuisinart 3200 at a cheaper price. It’ll brew the full pot in under 5 minutes, but with no extra carafe available, this brewer isn’t for everyone.

4.      Coffee Maker GEVI 12 Cup Coffee Machine

This fully automatic drip coffee maker adds a flair of style to your kitchen. the V-shaped reusable filter makes the most of the coffee grounds. The maker will brew you a good cup of coffee, and even keep it warm for a few hours. It’ll serve you well for a long time as long as you maintain it well and clean it regularly!

GEVI is, just like many other coffee makers (especially those on the budget) made in China.

The filter basket is dishwasher safe. It’s also compatible with paper filters, but it comes with a removable filter, so there’s no need to buy paper filters. It’s also BPA free.

The carafe has double glass as well as measurement markings. The water reservoir is semi-transparent and it holds up to 60oz/1776ml water. The non-stick plate can keep your coffee warm for two hours up to 60℃/149℉.

Pros

  • Programmable
  • Automatic shutdown
  • Double glass carafe
  • Removable filter basket
  • 12 cup capacity
  • Easy cleanup

Cons

  • Coffee isn’t hot enough

This brewer may come with very good reviews, but don’t be fooled, it’s not completely flawless. Still, it makes good and quite strong coffee, even though it’s not as hot as some users like it. the design is lovely, but there is room for improvement.

5.      Cuisinart DCC-4000 Coffee Maker

In terms of coffee strength, you can choose between the Bold, settings.

Pros

  • Fully automatic
  • Brew pause
  • Easy to use and fill
  • Charcoal water filter
  • 8-cup glass carafe

Cons

  • Carafe not replaceable
  • One water filter included

While DCC-4000 is relatively new on the market, it has great reviews and overall satisfaction of its users. Cuisinart should make a spare carafe in case this one breaks, which is likely since it’s made of glass. Apart from that, the coffee is hot and tasty, even though they could supply more than just one water filter!

6.      Redline MK1 8 Cup Coffee Brewer

This premium coffee brewer packs a lot of features that will help you brew a tasty cup of java in under 6 minutes. This brewer sticks to 185-200F brewing temperature and it also comes with a pre-infusion mode, which means it’ll bloom the coffee before letting it pour into the carafe below.

With an elegant design and simple use, you’ll easily fall in love with this baby, as have many others. Some even suggest is a cheap alternative to an expensive yet pro Moccamaster Technivorm!

Technical Specs:

This brewer comes with a limited 2-year warranty and a 60-day return policy.

It uses a standard #4 cone paper filters. When you first purchase it, you get a few filters with it, but you’ll need to constantly buy more.

This coffeemaker shuts off after a while so it won’t keep coffee hot for more than an hour.

Pros

  • Easy to use and clean
  • Functional and fast
  • Stylish
  • Pause and serve feature
  • Good customer service

Cons

  • Overpriced
  • The warmer plate is very hot

The bloom feature can help extract a better flavor and it makes most users happy. While many suggest it should be in the budget range of $50, this brewer will make you a good cup of joe but don’t expect it to last more than a year.

7.      Mr Coffee BVMC-FBX39 12-Cup Programmable Maker

For a solid coffee machine, Mr Coffee brewer will make you a decent cup of coffee while sitting pretty on the counter. With a swing basket and top fill, this machine’s easy to use and refill. You can even sneak out the first cup during the brewing cycle!

Mr Coffee maker is made of BPA-free plastic (at least for the water reservoir), and stainless steel. The water window is transparent and there is a warming plate that can keep the coffee hot up to two hours.

The clock display is LCD. If you need a replacement carafe, you can get it from Mr Coffee website.

This brewer can make 4 cups in about 6 minutes and a full pot in 10 minutes. It comes with a permanent filter, but that can create a bit of mess, letting grounds into your coffee. Get paper filters to avoid that problem.

The coffeemaker weighs 3.64 pounds. Its dimensions are 11.5 x 8.8 x 13.5 inches.

Pros

  • Programmable
  • Not loud
  • Automatic shut off
  • 12 cups capacity
  • Scoop included

Cons

  • Doesn’t brew the whole pot
  • Reusable basket overflows

While this brewer will make you a decent cup of coffee, it’s not the best coffeemaker on the list. It comes with positive and optimistic reviews, but there are certain cons that we simply can’t overlook for the price. It may do your coffee justice, but it may not be worth your time.

8.      Cuisinart CHW-12 12-CUP Programmable Coffeemaker

A fully automatic machine is easy to use and can provide you with a fresh coffee straight into your travel coffee mug or into a carafe to spoil a crowd. What’s more, it’s convenient for those who have both coffee- and tea drinkers in the household, as it is practical for both.

Technical Specs:

This coffeemaker has a separate water system with its own power button, which means you can heat up water independently if you want a cup of tea, prepare oatmeal or soup.

The drip tray is removable; that means that you can easily fit a travel coffee mug there and prepare a freshly brewed cup to-go. The brewer uses #4 cone filter, but it actually comes with a permanent gold filter.

Dimensions of this coffee maker are 10.2 x 9.5 x 14.3 inches. It weighs 10 pounds and it comes with a 3-year warranty which you can view here as a pdf. You can also see the user manual here.

Pros

  • Drip-free pour carafe
  • Automatic shut-off
  • Charcoal water filter
  • Hot water on demand
  • Bre pause feature
  • 12 cup capacity

Cons

  • Not easiest to clean
  • Poor customer service

A separate water tank is definitely a huge plus. It’s a practical feature you simply need in your kitchen. But, the customer service is not very friendly and the water tank isn’t removable. It takes a while to master pouring water into it without spilling.

Grind and Brew Coffeemakers

9.      Cuisinart DGB-550BK Grind & Brew Automatic Coffee Maker

This brewer will easily make you an excellent cup of coffee (or 12)! It’s a sturdy machine, but remember to clean the grinder after each use. Even the sturdy can fail when not maintained properly!

Anyway, the brewer isn’t designed the best way possible, but it’s capable of making deeply fragrant and flavorful coffee. After all, it’s an adaptable machine that can cater to your needs if you let it to!

Technical Specs:

The filter and grinder chamber are separated to ease the cleanup of the machine. Cuisinart DGB grinds coffee just before brewing for the maximum experience. The grinder is a blade grinder, not a burr grinder.

This brewer comes with a charcoal water filter and a gold-tone commercial filter. The one thing most users complain about is the fact that the steam seems to enter the grinder area somehow when water gets hot, making a hot mess you have to clean.

The brewer is available in silver/black color and it comes with the following dimensions: 15.2 x 11.2 x 7.5 inches. It weighs 10.8 pounds and it’s made of metal. You can download the user manual here and have a look at a 3-year warranty here.

Pros

  • Amazing coffee
  • Auto-shutoff
  • Brew pause feature
  • 12 cup capacity

Cons

  • Loud grinder
  • Cleanup is a hassle

Honestly, the cleaning process will take your time. Also, you have to measure the beans for each pot every time you want to brew. If you follow a few necessary steps and always place the basket handle in front of the machine, you can easily enjoy a great tasting cup of coffee leakage-free!

10.      Gourmia GCM4850 Grind and Brew Coffee Maker

With a sleek display and stylish bold design, Gourmia will surely make your day from the beginning. It’s adjustable in terms of the brew strength and cups, and it starts your morning coffee routine from scratch with a burr grinder to provide the best coffee experience you can have. What’s best, it’s tall and compact, which helps to save space on the counter!

Technical specs:

Gourmia comes with an integrated burr grinder, which has 18 different grind settings. That means it can brew anything with the correct ground beans, from espresso to latte. The grinder provides uniform grounds every time you use it.

The grinder is slightly loud again, but the machine brews 4 cups of coffee in under 6 minutes.

The brewer comes with a reusable filter. If you don’t want to bother with cleaning it, you can buy #2 cone filters instead. The carafe is glass and the warming plate can keep the coffee hot up to 30 minutes. After that, the coffeemaker automatically shuts off. That’s especially convenient in case you forget about it and leave the house.

The dimensions are 17 x 13.2 x 8.7 inches, this brewer weighs 10.2 pounds. The machine is 120V.

Pros

  • Burr grinder
  • Auto-shutoff
  • Removable water reservoir
  • Brew strength selection
  • 2, 4, or 6 cups available

Cons

  • Short power cord
  • No timer
  • No indication when brewing is done

Gourmia coffeemaker allows you to customize the grinds to each type of coffee specifically while saving the space in your kitchen. The brewer comes without a timer (which would be handy), but it’s bound to keep things simple: from using it to cleaning it. Prepare to have a weaker coffee.
